Jean was an R.P.D. officer found dead in one of the barricaded stairways in the South Raccoon Street Station having committed suicide. His suicide note is found alongside his body in HARD and VERY HARD modes only.

Further notes

• Jean can be unlocked as a playable character in a four character set along with Tony, Andy, and Fred simply by completing the "desperate times" scenario on any difficulty with any character. Jean starts with a Blue Herb and is a Jim-type character, which is probably a nod to him being a coward like Jim.
• Because he is a Jim-type character, he can increase his critical hit ratio with the Lucky Coin flip and can play dead.
