Jean was a police officer for the Raccoon City Police Department. He committed suicide in the Raccoon City Subway during the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident, having lost hope of surviving the viral outbreak. He left a suicide note asking for forgiveness from his surviving fellow officers.

Gameplay

Jean can be unlocked as a playable character in a four character set along with Tony, Andy, and Fred simply by completing the "desperate times" scenario on any difficulty with any character. Jean starts with a Blue Herb and is a Jim-type character. As such, he can increase his critical hit ratio with the Lucky Coin flip and can play dead.
