"Jill's Friend" (tentative) is a mysterious tertiary character only appearing if examining a photograph placed on Jill Valentine's desk in the Raccoon Police Station's S.T.A.R.S. office. Accounts differs whether the photo was of a young man or a dog.

- In original Resident Evil 2, when Claire Redfield and Leon Scott Kennedy searched the office, they encountered the photograph and assumed it to be a boyfriend of Jill's.[note 1] However, Resident Evil 3's director Kazuhiro Aoyama denied this, commenting that the photo corresponded only to a friend of hers.[1]
- In addition, Jill took no notice of the photograph when she raided the office the previous night.
- In Resident Evil 2 remake, the photograph on Jill's desk was replaced by a dog photo.[2] The same photo can be found at her apartment in Resident Evil 3 remake.
