Raccoon City Destruction Incident[]

The S.T.A.R.S. alpha team in Emmy's Diner.
In September 1998, Valentine joined the rest of the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team in investigating several missing persons cases in the outskirts of the city. On the 30th, Jill was socializing with Albert and Richard at Emmy's Diner when the trio were called into a search-and-rescue meeting with the rest of Alpha Team at the station, shortly following the sudden disappearance of the Bravo Team.

Jill discovers Wesker's betrayal.
Flying into the Arklay Mountains, the group discovered Bravo Teams demolished vehicle and landed to investigate. They stumbled across the Spencer Mansion where Wesker ordered the unit to split up and investigate the mansion further. Chris and Richard would cover the mansion's second floor, while Jill and Wesker would explore the first. The pair soon discovered a library with a grand piano that, upon playing of the Moonlight Sonata, revealed a secret passage to Umbrella's secret laboratory. Unfortunately, the pair were distraught after their helicopter (and Brad) crashed into the library and Jill ultimately discovered Wesker's betrayal due to him working with a mysterious force.

Jill rescues Chris.
After being abandoned by Wesker, Jill fled deeper into the mansion to find her teammates, running into Chris who was being overwhelmed by a group of zombies. After helping him, the pair hugged each other for comfort and she revealed Wesker's betrayal. They then followed the traitor deeper below the mansion and into a secret lab, where they soon learned that illegal bio-weapons had been mass-produced covertly by the Umbrella, a pharmaceutical giant that had been operating within the city for decades and thus, had amassed control over the cities financial and municipal structures. Unfortunately for Wesker, his was plans were cut short when he was fatally-wounded. In his dying breath, Wesker warned Jill of Umbrella's plan to sterilize the entire city.

Jill, Chris, Claire, Leon, and Sherry survive Raccoon City.
After a close encounter with a mutated William Birkin, Jill, accompanied by the young Sherry Birkin, attempted to locate a way out of the city before it's destruction, eventually coming across a nearby train. Reuniting with Chris, Claire, and rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, the five managed to escape the city using an underground rail system that connected Umbrella's labs.[1]
