Johann Urb (born 24 January 1977 in Tallinn, Estonia) is an Estonian actor.
Early life Edit
Johann was born in Tallinn, the capital of the former Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic, to a Tarmo Urb, a local musician and his wife, Maris. Around 1987 Johann, his mother and stepfather to Finland, where they eventually settled in the city of Tampere. In 1994 the seventeen year old Johann chose to emigrate to the United States to live with his father in New York, and began a modeling career and, following this, undertook acting studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Johann's first acting role was the 2001 film Zoolander, where he played the bodyguard of Will Ferrell's character, Jacobim Mugatu. For the next few years Johann took up bit parts in film and TV, including an episode of CSI: Miami. Johann got his first large role in 2008's The Hottie & the Nottie. Following this he played the pilot, Sasha, in the 2009 disaster film, 2012. In 2011 he was cast as Leon Kennedy, a resistance leader in Resident Evil: Retribution.
