John Shirley is an American writer who wrote the Novelization Resident Evil: Retribution - The Official Movie Novelization based on the Resident Evil feature film of the same name.
Shirley has also written novelizations for the films Constantine and Doom, as well as tie-in fiction for the Bioshock, Halo, and Watch Dog video game franchises. He also published his own original fiction, particularly in the cyberpuk genre.
As a screenwriter, Shirley also wrote the screeplay for the 1994 feature film The Crow, as well as episodes for television series such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Batman Beyond, and The Real Ghostbusters.
