Josef Simon was a resident of an isolated mountain community in Eastern Europe. As a resident, he was a follower of a pagan revival movement dedicated to the Black God and its prophet, Mother Miranda. Simon was employed as a gardener for Donna Beneviento, a childhood friend of his who became a Superhuman. Before his death at her hands, he was custodian of the missing luthier's house.[1][2]
