Jun Takeuchi (竹内 潤) is a Japanese video game director and producer. He graduated from the Division of Graphics at the Sozosha College of Design and joined the game development company Capcom in 1991.[1] He is now the studio manager for Division 1, which oversees all AAA Resident Evil games.

Career[]

Takeuchi worked on Resident Evil as a character modeller, and was attached to the project no later than mid-development when the development team was still trying to make a fully 3D environment to explore.[2] He later worked on Resident Evil 2 as a Motion Designer, and following this went on with the development of Onimusha Warlords, a project that marked his directorial debut.

He served as the producer for Onimusha 3, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Lost Planet 2. He was also the chief producer for Resident Evil 5. In the past, Takeuchi worked as a Visual Designer on other Capcom games such as Street Fighter II, Final Fight 2 (1993) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Mega Man 5 (1992) and Super Ghouls 'N Ghots (1991) .[3] In 2012 he was appointed as the head of Capcom's Games Development Division 1, a studio primarily focused on the development of Resident Evil games.[4]
