June Lin Milliam is a person who was caught up in the transdimensional conflict between the forces of Ouma and Shinra.[1]

Biography[]

June Lin Milliam was born in the year 2331, as the sole daughter of Michael Lin Milliam, a prestigious British university professor of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Elin Milliam, a beautiful woman of Mandarin descent whose older brother was a high-ranking official of the military division of the Earth Federation Forces. Living a peaceful life with her family in the culturally vibrant nation of Hong Kong, June would go on to foster an affinity and talent for gymnastics in her early childhood, which would later capture international attention into her later years within the athletics world.

By the age of 14, June and her family's life would soon be turned upside down, as a fervent socio and cultural political turmoil within mainland China, and growing sentiment within her home nation would soon break out into the Second Chinese Cultural Revolution, a massive wave of revolts and rioting not unlike the events of the mid-20th Century. With fierce racial sentiment against "undesirable elements", including Hong Kong's roots of once being a British territory, infrastructure and societal elements rooted from Western civilization, and to those descended from those responsible for its spread, Hong Kong's streets would also become a chaotic battleground in the wake of a coup de tate by a mass number of members within its own military and socialists that sought to reform the nation by force. Upon the start of the conflict, June was prompted by news of the school principal being detained by revolutionaries from a fellow student during post school gymnastics training to evacuate the premises, while her father was forced to immediately flee the university campus at threat of violence for his safety. While June made her way home to her mother, Michael did not return home.

Forced to remain indoors in their home for their safety, June and Elin could only watch the news over the revolutionaries seizing control of the state and declaring a new era of rule of Hong Kong as a Chinese territory, and hope for the best regarding Michael and his whereabouts. As a month would pass, a mysterious letter was soon found at their doorstep. Revealing its contents, the letter was from Michael, who revealed that he was in hiding with a family friend, and announced plans to escape the now turbulent Hong Kong to the United Kingdom. Without hesitation and in the face of the objection of her mother, June would also follow through with her father's plans to escape, which would be enough to get Elin to also follow suit. Covertly entering at Victoria Harbor in the early morning near an abandoned warehouse with many pockets of refugees scattered about to not draw attention to the authorities, June and Elin would soon find and be reunited with Michael in a tearful reunion, before boarding a freighter to leave their home, now unsafe and unwelcoming to them, to take refuge and find peace in a new land.

Entering into the United Kingdom illegally, the Milliams would soon face the challenges of integrating into British society and to start their lives over again, as detainment would only mean being sent back to the now turbulent Hong Kong. Not even soon after finding a new home, Michael would leave his wife and daughter the rest of the money he had been able to scour from the family account; unwilling to bribe university officials to regain his position as a professor, and having heard of a golden opportunity of employment elsewhere in London, Michael reluctantly left his family behind to keep them safe in the event that he would be found by immigration officials or worse. Before leaving, he would tell his grieving daughter that though what he was doing was not easy, even for him, no one's life is lived alone nor without love, and that he needed to make his departure for his family's sake. After this, letters from Michael and a majority of his paycheck in cash was delivered in secret by him for June and Elin, allowing them to live comfortably, though June deep down wished for her father to come back home. Later on, Michael would let them know that he had been accepted into a high paying position at a new laboratory institute under the ownership of world famous Nobel Prize winning American physicist Edward Bilstein, who had discovered the forces of Plasma Power, a force that utilizes the sixth sense of the mind to control the fourth state of matter, and had allowed Earth to garner a powerful self defense deterrent against antagonistic intergalactic forces.

Half a year later however, calamity would soon strike the Milliams again. That day, word of the London Bilstein laboratory facility having experienced a terrible accident would then become national news, and to the shock of June and Elin, Micheal was identified as one of the victims of the crime scene by police. With Elin overcome with immense grief and in mourning of her husband, June wished to visit his workstation to help clean out and attain any family belongings. Upon entering the facility, June however had taken note of the clean nature of the facility despite evidence of violence by firearms and skirmish, and became mystified upon the sight of her father's fellow employees, who exhibited signs of physical workplace abuse and mental anguish. Upon nearing Michael's desk, the area was cordoned off, but June would not forget the sight of it, with his work area and desk stained with blood, while with a strange note also stained in blood that declared nothing bad had happened at the laboratory. Shortly after, her uncle would then visit their household, and had revealed that Michael was murdered as an unwilling test subject in an experiment performed directly by Bilstein, a grisly activity that had been discovered to be frequently done at Bilstein's laboratories throughout the world.

Sometime later, June and Elin were keeping up with news of the Bilstein case, in where Edward Bilstein was awaiting court marshal due to evidence of his cruelties throughout the world, while Elin had suffered a mental breakdown over Micheal's death and was left neurotically and lethargically bed ridden. As Bilstein's case would reach its peak, the verdict passed issued that Bilstein would be tried for his abuse and infringement by violating human rights by his actions, but as this did not cover the individual acts of murder of not just her father, but of many bereaved before even Michael's death, June had felt the judgement given was but a bittersweet and indirect form of justice. Soon after, Elin had left the house; though June asked where her mother was going, she did not give word. As a few days passed without Elin's return, June would file a missing persons report on her mother through the police. As several days passed on then, June would be escorted to a morgue to identify a body; June would confirm that the body was that of her mother, Elin, who had committed suicide by overdosing and drowning herself in the Thames River out of the loss of her husband and the trauma of the misfortune that had befallen their family.

Having lost both her parents within not even a span of a year, and a victim of war and discrimination, June would be forced to support herself and grow up quickly to survive in the UK, with only the gradual support of her maternal uncle. As June would turn 17, news would soon spread of Bilstein's escape from his orbital prison on the newly colonized planet Zeta, and his establishment of the Fourth Empire to declare universal conquest. Emotionally heartbroken and nearly driven to suicide at her parent's murderer not being given due justice for his atrocities, it would be her father's last words that would help turn this anguish into resolve and determination to stop Bilstein once and for all. Knowing well of Plasma Power and hearing the start of Project Star Gladiator, June would then arrange a meeting with her uncle, to file a mercenary recommendation and use his influence to give her a chance to pursue vengeance against Bilstein. Reluctantly signing his signature on the recommendation form, her uncle asked out of concern, if he will not regret following through with this course of action. June only nodded firmly, and was accepted.
