(Covers information from the S.D. Perry novels)
Karen Driver was an officer in the Special Tactics and Rescue Service, a special police division in the United States. A tall woman with short blond hair, she was skilled in forensics, and served as the forensics special for the Exeter, Maine branch's "Alpha Team".[2] Karen was known to have been obsessively clean and ordered, to the extent that bookshelves had to be "antiseptically-clean" and books organized by purpose.[1] She frequently carried an old hand grenade for luck, which was used by Rebecca Chambers and Captain David Trapp when they became trapped, along with John Andrews.
Biography[]
Following the Raccoon City, Pennsylvania S.T.A.R.S. branch's investigation into the Umbrella Corporation, the biggest donor to S.T.A.R.S., the Exeter branch was among the few to remain loyal to its original mission and provided assistance when Umbrella-bribed S.T.A.R.S. officers turned on the Raccoon City team. In preparation for a raid on an Umbrella raid on Caliban Cove, Karen provided Rebecca Chambers with a place to stay.[1]
At the beginning of the Caliban Cove mission, Karen was partnered with her team's communications expert, John Andrews with orders being to investigate the cove and find access to the lab.[1]
She was infected with the t-Virus after she touched a spot of dried blood on a gurney and then scratched her eye. Karen transformed into a regular zombie, unlike the Trisquads. She was killed and disposed of by Dr. Nicolas Griffith in order to be replaced by a more fitting, stronger and robuster "specimen", Steve Lopez.
