Kate Boyd was the sister of Annette Birkin, and the aunt of Sherry.

She took Sherry in after William and Annette's deaths. However, in accordance with the Birkins' wills, should anything happen to them, Sherry would have been sent to live with William's sister.[citation needed]Claire Redfield noted that she was nothing like Annette. David Trapp reflected that she was one of the best lawyers in California, good enough to give Umbrella incentive to stay away from Sherry.[1]
