Kathy was a nurse at the Raccoon General Hospital.
Biography
Though Raccoon General Hospital was inundated with infected patients even before Operation: NESTWRECKER, it was the contamination of the drinking supply soon after which meant the end of Raccoon City. At some point during the rioting, Kathy was attacked by a Zombie and suffered a serious bite wound to her neck, puncturing an artery. She was infected with the modified ε strain of t-Virus, either by the water or in the attack, and mutated into a Zombie before the wound had time to kill her.
Gameplay
Kathy can be unlocked as a playable character by completing The Hive on HARD difficulty and purchasing her character set for 5.000 points in File #1, and is already unlocked and can be purchased for only 500 points in File #2. Her character set includes Elena, another nurse. She is a Cindy-type character and starts with a Mixed Herb (Green+Blue+Red). On File #1, she is named Nurse1, while in File #2, she is given her proper name, Kathy.
A second version of Kathy also exists that's used for zombies. This version can only be obtained via Gameshark or a similar device and will not have proper stats, making her unable to cause damage and run very slowly. Gameshark codes or codes from a similar device may be used to give her proper stats.
Further Notes
- Kathy is a template for one of the female nurse zombie types in The Hive scenario from Resident Evil Outbreak.
- The playable zombie version of Kathy has a large amount of blood on the left side of her throat, indicating that she probably had a vital artery punctured by the zombie that bit her and bled out profusely. However, the actual zombie model of Kathy has a different hairstyle and no blood around the neck.
