Kipepeo (Anderson)
"And you know what those delightfully hideous darlings flying in holding patterns above you are, too."
— Dania Cardoza to Albert Wesker

Kipepeo is a species of creature which emerged during the global T-virus pandemic. They are referred to by Albert Wesker and Dania Cardoza as "Infectors".

Biology

The Kipepeo is a multi-winged behemoth that originated from an undisclosed T-Virus mutation. The Kipepeos are very large, their sizes varied at around the same size of a truck or larger. It also sports a horned, demonic-looking humanoid head with curved mandibles and multiple pair of smaller, insectoid legs end with scythe-like claws that appeared unable to support its weight, instead being used for combat. While they retain sharp pincer-like claws on the end of their lower body, the claws are much more deadlier due to brute force they possess befitting to their size— as one is shown able to tear off the roof of Alice's jeep on a whim.

In the novelization of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, it is revealed that the spines located along the creatures body can willingly detach. If these spines hit a target, they are capable of mutating the victim into a mutant described as a featureless mass of tentacles, capable of combining with others to become a Melange.

Further notes

  • These creatures are based on the Kipepeo of Resident Evil 5, though it is not confirmed if they are also hosts of Las Plagas.
  • The mutations that result from contact with the Kipepeo's spines are heavily based on the mutations seen with rejected Uroboros hosts.
  • According to Anderson, Kipepeo were developed as means to counteract humanity's aerial advantage over the Undead.
