Osmund Saddler

Las Plagas (プラーガ purāga?, translation: "Plague") is a genus of parasitic organisms discovered in Valdelobos, Spain.[1] [2]

History[]

Origins[]

The parasite is likely ancient, it appears to have evolved to sustain long-periods of hibernation in its embryonic form.[3][4] The fact that they were safely preserved within ancient depots of Amber -which is a fossilized tree resin- and the art of a giant tree-like structure in "Iluminados Final Chapter" might imply that the parasites are plant-related despite its arthropodal nature.

Discovery[]

It all begins with a man named Adam Saddler, back in 1554 Adam was exploring the Castle's underground caves when he encountered the Amber deposits, upon witnessing their power, he started to believe that these creatures were, originally, part of a larger entity and this entity was God himself. [5]

Biology[]

Species[]

Dominant Species (支配種?) This species occupies the highest rank in the social hierarchy of the parasites, functioning essentially as a queen. It forms a symbiotic relationship with its host that, compared to Superior and Subordinate species, is significantly more advantageous. While the host's cognitive functions remain largely intact, this comes at the expense of severe and grotesque bodily deformities (which more apparent should the host decides to assume monstrous forms) as well as personality corruption.

Superior Species (上位種?) A variant of the Subordinate Plaga, engineered to retain cognitive functions while ensuring control by the Dominant Species. Like the latter, it allows the host to assume monstrous forms and corrupt their mind.

Subordinate Species The most commonly encountered species, it serves as the cult's primary tool for world domination by stripping hosts of their free will. This strain is found in Ganados, Colmillos, Armaduras, Regeneradores, and Del Lago.

The Amber[]

The Amber (アンバー anbā?) was a special fossilized tree resin in which contained a unique species of Plaga that -even though in a suspended state- could influence other lower-ranking parasites and probably outcast Saddler's as their leader. Further studies on this Plaga revealed it even shared same powers and abilities as Dominant species Plaga.[6] In fact, the dormant special Plaga bolstered the might of Krauser's Superior Species Plaga during one of experiments conducted by Anabel García Escudero— a development which disturbed Saddler that he threatened the scientist responsible and stressed its importance in Los Iluminados' cause.[7] [8] This may imply that the dubbed "Amber Plaga" was in fact a unique type of Dominant plaga, far beyond anything seen before. It was found by Lead Researcher Dr. Luis Serra Navarro.[9][10]
