Leu (plural: Lei) is a currency in Resident Evil Village. They take the appearance of silver coins with the design of a wolf on the front.
Gameplay[]
Lei is a currency used at The Duke to purchase certain items. In the main game, it can be found in the environment or dropped when enemies/animals are killed.
The Lei can be seen at all times within the Inventory. Lei can also be found at The Mercenaries which are to be spent at The Duke as well, but players may also keep it to increase their end score.
When playing as Chris Redfield in the story, the Lei will show up at the Inventory, but it will default to zero. Additionally, Lei will not drop during his section.
Three challenges require the player to hold a specific amount of Lei in the main story:
- Lucky Number 7 - 777 or 7,777 or 77,777 Lei. (Also an achievement)
- Anniversary Present - 52,911 Lei.
- Countdown - 54,321 Lei.
The trick to these challenges is crafting and selling Rifle ammunitions (1 Chem Fluid + 2 Rusted Scrap + 1 Metal Scrap). Each Rifle ammo round sells for 7 Lei while any other ammo type is sold in multiples of 5. In addition earning 8,100,000 Lei in the main story over several playthroughs unlocks the Make It Rain! challenge.

- The currency is based on a real-world currency used separately by Romania and Moldova. Division 1 initially planned, however, to use the Euro as the game's currency.[1]
