Li Bingbing (born 27 February 1973) is a Chinese actress and singer. She portrayed Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Retribution.[1]
Career[]
When cast in the role, Bingbing had not played any Resident Evil games. Though she was aware of the franchise, Bingbing was not familiar with her character and studied the role by watching playthrough videos online. For her costume, Bingbing was provided with an expensive wig approximately $7,500 in value, and took pride in its realistic appearance which confused crew members.[2] Political relations between China and Japan affected Bingbing's experience in the film, and she did not attend the Tokyo premier of the film.[3] As a result, Sony was against Bingbing reprising her role in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,[4] and the character was therefore absent.
