Martinico (マルティニコ, Marutiniko) was the name given to an experimental test subject implanted with the Dominant species Plaga.

History

Martinico was once a fragile test subject despised by its researchers for being "deformed" compared to the other test subjects.

During Ada's mission to infiltrate the island, Martinico breached its containment, running rampant and destroying most of the laboratory in its vicinity while killing anyone within its way. It pursued the spy until they reach the hallway full of lasers, where the spy uses her acrobatic abilities to avoid the lasers whilst escaping the relentless beast. Ada eventually used her hookshot to escape the facility, while Martinico fell victim to the laser system designed to keep him in place, and was ultimately diced into cubes by a grid of lasers.

Biology

Due to being fused with the Dominant species Plaga, Martinico has gained significant regenerative abilities, moreso than the Regenerador, making it impervious to conventional weaponry. It also endows inhuman levels of strength, capable of destroying concrete walls. This also led to the decline of its intelligence, making it impossible to contain once it escapes confinement.

Gameplay

Martinico is impervious to most weapons, making it impossible defeat by conventional means, thus it is mostly oriented around chase and stealth sequence.

It is wise to keep running away from Martinico, as getting caught by the pursuing beast will result in a game over by grabbing the player character and viciously biting their upper body.
