Matilda is a weapon in Resident Evil 4. This weapon is obtained from the Merchant in exchange for ten Spinels. It can be modified with the Matilda Stock.
Gameplay[]
A relatively unremarkable handgun out of the box, the Matilda sports an overall average stat barring it's incredibly high capacity (60 with its exclusive upgrade). However, once it is equipped with the Matilda Stock; it will be able to shoot three-round bursts in extremely fast succession in a concentrated manner, easily allowing it to stagger ganados or zealots with a single burst.
Moreover, it can fire as fast as the player can pull the trigger, ostensibly turning it into a pseudo submachinegun albeit having the firepower (per bullet) of a handgun, capable of mowing down hordes of enemies and shredding bosses. This is a double-edged sword however, as ammo scarcity in general under normal circumstances holds it back from it's full potential.
It is needed for the challenge "Gun Fanatic."
