  • Based on information in the Japanese games, you don't die and reanimate as a zombie but instead mutate into one while alive.

    • There is far too much that suggests to the contrary regarding the games, but I won't argue. Do what you will.

    • The story notes make it clear that Zombies are humans who have mutated to go on living despite serious injuries that would normally be considered fatal (they even went into detail about the RE1 zombies' height being a hormone imbalance, so it was a lot to note). The t-Virus also can't revive the dead (G can do that, which is probably why Sherry was used to create C-Virus in RE6, which revives long-dead corpses). However, RE3 and CODE:Vereonica have zombies popping out of their graves; post-release notes clarify that they were people buried alive when their lack of heartbeat and comatose state was mistaken for death (Darkside Chronicles had a "Graveyard Zombie" file that tried to explain it, too).

TL;DR - Capcom's story notes remain canon, and they have to handwave instances they screwed up to keep it canon.

    • LOL. Don't worry, I read it. I doubt people who edit wikis in their spare time are adverse to reading; that's for US Presidents to not do. ;)

Hey, no probs. This game has a long and convoluted history. It's kind of our job to try to string it all into sense every time Capcom shits the bed. If you're happy with their current excuses for this and that, I'm good with it. Flare1983 (talk) 00:54, May 18, 2018 (UTC)
