Ella Fontaine was an employee of the Umbrella Corporation who worked in The Hive. When the tyrant virus was spread by Spence Parks, she was trapped in an elevator. While attempting to crawl out, she was decapitated when the Red Queen caused the elevator to ascend, with her head still outside it. Ella was simply credited as "Ms. Black" in Resident Evil. Her name was given in the book Resident Evil: Genesis.
