Upon being infused into a zombie's head, the NE-α Type would completely merged with its skull encasing it with its own biomass like sort of "helmet" and controlled the rest of its body. For combat, the parasite can use its elongated tentacles to lash out at its victim up to medium range or grabbing the player character to swallow their heads with its gaping maw, ejecting itself from its original host body in favor of the latter's while doing so. The parasite's tentacles can also be deployed defensively owing to their considerable resistance against firearms.
The best way to destroy a NE-α Parasite Zombie is damaging its parasite's host zombie body enough first until it is forced to expose its weak points.
NE-α Parasite Zombie is first seen in the Resident Evil 3 remake as an enemy, apparently replacing Grave Digger from the original version.
They act similarly to the Plagas of Resident Evil 4 where they latch themselves onto their hosts' head and take over their bodies.
