Nyx was an experimental biological weapon stored in Raccoon City. It was named after "Nyx", the Greek goddess of the night.
Background
In late 1998, at the height of the t-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City, Nyx was stolen by the Umbrella Security Service' Captain Rodriguez, who'd originally been tasked to retrieve it.
An Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service team was dispatched to track it down, led by Tommy Neilson and Arnold.[1] It was released following a fall onto the highway after the chains connecting her capsule to Rodriguez's helicopter snapped after a sudden evasive action. It soon absorbed a U.B.C.S. team stationed on the highway, and later the Tyrant (Tyrant R).[2]
