Pale Heads originated from test subjects that underwent a special mutation upon infection with the Tyrant Virus.[notes 1] Similarly to zombies, Pale Heads have declined intelligence and visible deterioration of their bodies; notably, their skin has decayed into a fibrous white mass that gives them their name. However, their mutation affords them powerful regenerative abilities and faster movement. Despite appearing to lack eyes, they have no apparent difficulty finding prey.
The exact origin of the Pale Head mutation remains unknown, and so it remains unviable as a bioweapon.
