Changes: Part 26: Immortal Woman

Episode 26 (第26話, Dai 26-wa^?) is the twenty-sixth chapter in the Resident Evil: The Marhawa Desire manga series. It was first published in Issue #8 of the Weekly Shōnen Champion Extra's 2013 series, but was later on re-published in the fourth tankōbon volume on May 8.

Plot

Piers Nivans has managed to get a radio signal out to the BSAA Far East HQ as he drives his Gambit through the jungle. HQ can provide reinforcements, but they won't arrive at Marhawa School for 24 hours. HQ wants him to pass on orders to the rest of the team: as they are not prepared to tackle the outbreak, they are to evacuate from the school immediately. Nivans drives back to the school to rescue his teammates.

Cpt. Chris Redfield and Ricky Tozawa are on their way to the basement, when they hear from Merah Biji she has found Bindi Bergara.

At the school's outdoor swimming pool, Nanan Yoshihara meets with the mysterious hooded woman, who refers to her as 'C16'. The woman offers Yoshihara come with her, but Yoshihara would rather kill her. She escapes a tentacle swing with her hookshot as Yoshihara trips and falls into the water. The woman determines Yoshihara to only take orders from Bergara, and decides to give her some more time before she comes back for her.

Episode 26 - Merah's agility — Merah is known for her acrobatic talents.

At the school, Bergara swings her Ruka-Khvatanje arm at Biji, who's impressive acrobatic skills allow her to avoid hits. She cartwheels behind Bergara and shoots her in the back of the head, then slits her throat with her combat knife.

Cpt. Redfield hears from Biji that Bergara is dead, and orders her to meet with him at the basement where they can get to the helicopter. As more Zombies flock to he and Tozawa, Cpt. Redfield orders Biji to go to the basement alone and wait for him. She responds that she will be a while.

Back at the church, Bergara has gotten up. She has mutated further since her gunshot wound, with her C-Cells regenerating to cover the wound, adding another few eyes to her forehead. Cpt. Redfield radios in that she should forget about her and evacuate, but Biji insists it is her duty to deal with the cause of bioterror incidents, so cannot allow Bergara the chance to flee. The radio suddenly stops working, cutting her and Cpt. Redfield off from one another.

This is too long for Piers; with the school already fallen there's only Chris and Merah left to slow the infection. The main priority is now to evacuate any possible survivors. Chris and Ricky clear out a room full of zombies as Merah radios in to report having found Bindi.

Merah reports subsequently that there are no survivors; Bindi just killed the last group. As more zombies approach Chris and Ricky, they make their way to the control room to wait for her. Merah tells Chris he may have to wait a while for her; Bindi gets up off the ground. Chris orders Merah to leave her behind; Bindi is too strong to be successfully brought down. Merah disregards this order; since the bioterror attack was conducted in the Far East Branch's region, she feels personally obligated to take out the ringleader. She then disconnects her radio, preventing any further communication. Bindi complements Merah on her refusal to give up.
