Patient (患者 , kanja) was a resident of Raccoon City. In September 1998, a modified Epsilon strain of t-Virus contaminated the city's water supply, turning tens of thousands into Zombies. Patient appears to have been attacked and infected during the early point of this crisis, and was rushed to Raccoon General Hospital for treatment. In the hospital he began complaining of a fever, and observations showed a drop in blood pressure. Dr. Linda Pearl wanted him taken to the emergency room for surgery, but later decided all infected patients should be taken to a quarantine ward.
