The PlayStation 5 Showcase was an online event held by Sony on September 16, 2020. It focused on showcasing upcoming PlayStation 5 titles as well as its price and release date.
A new trailer for Resident Evil Village was shown during the broadcast. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was announced as one of the games within the PlayStation Plus Collection which would be given for free for PlayStation Plus members at the launch of the PS5.[1]
Later after the show, Jim Ryan, the CEO of PlayStation, stated that 99% of PS4 games will be playable on the PS5 via the backwards compatibility, essentially confirming that most Resident Evil titles on the PS4 would be playable on the system.[2]
