Raccoon City was an American city heavily financed by Umbrella Corporation.
Following an outbreak of T-virus, the United States Congress ordered the city to be sterilized to destroy any evidence of their involvement and eradicate the threat.[1] After the incident, Umbrella faced public scandal and a significant drop in stock prices, but the company was able to recover from the disaster under the guidance of CEO Evelyn Marcus in hopes of regaining trust and the truth surrounding the Raccoon City Incident was buried.[2]
In the 2010s, Umbrella built a planned community in South Africa, named New Raccoon City after this city.[3]
