Located in the town center, the R.P.D. (Raccoon City Police Department) was solely responsible for public security in Raccoon City, with the safety of its citizens as its highest priority.
Formerly an art museum, the huge, historical department building houses a large number of officers to meet the needs of the city. Although police chief Brian Irons was well-liked in town, he was taking kickbacks from Umbrella behind the scenes.
R.P.D.は「Raccoon Police Department（ラクーン市警察署）」の略。街の中央部に位置し、ラクーンシティの治安を一手に担う警察組織として、市民の安全を第一に活動。
美術館だった建物を市が買い取り、警察署として改修。歴史を感じさせる巨大な警察署には、多数の警官が常備勤務していた。
署長はブライアン・アイアンズ。温厚で市民に親しまれていたが、裏ではアンブレラとの汚職に手を染め賄賂を受け取っていた。
