Plot[]
Ricky Tozawa and his uncle Doug Wright, along with Ray Hsu and Tahir Kapoor, prepare to enter the basement to eliminate the zombies. At the last moment, Bindi arrives armed with a crossbow, insisting on helping. As they descend, Ray and Tahir vow to stay until all monsters are destroyed, as promised to Sister Gracia. While exploring, they find a severed hand on the floor and are soon attacked by a fast-moving zombie that charges Doug. Tahir kills it but is bitten on the arm. Since Ricky was bitten earlier without turning, Doug suspects Tahir may also be immune. Shocked, Doug notes that zombies have never run or shown such strength, indicating a new virus variant. The noise attracts more zombies, forcing the group to barricade themselves in a control room. There, they find a mortally wounded worker (the one who lost his hand) who reveals that a mysterious hooded woman with a vacant stare terrified them in the basement. They began choking and soon transformed. Doug concludes the outbreak is an artificial bioterrorist attack.Meanwhile, Gracia, searching through Doug’s belongings, finds reports on Raccoon City’s destruction but refuses to act. The group eliminates the remaining zombies. Bindi accuses Gracia of causing the crisis, but Ray and Tahir defend her, citing her noble ideals. As Doug collects samples, the lights go out, and a zombie fatally bites Ray’s jugular. The group kills the zombie, and Ray, dying, tearfully calls Gracia “sister.” Bindi spots the hooded woman and chases her. Hearing her scream, the others rush to help. Tahir bids a sorrowful farewell to Ray. Ricky finds Bindi’s crossbow and hairpin, using the weapon to kill another zombie. Ray, now a zombie, appears, and they are forced to kill him. Ricky finds Bindi unconscious in a tunnel. When she wakes, she claims to have seen her old friend Nanan.Back on the surface, the bodies are recovered, and Bindi is taken to the infirmary. Ricky confronts Gracia, accusing her of hiding the truth, but she retorts that he can’t understand her reasons. At that moment, Chris Redfield, Piers Nivans, and Merah Biji arrive at Bennet University in Singapore to find Doug. Merah notes it’s unusual for Doug not to leave a note for the B.S.A.A., suspecting trouble. Piers learns from students that Doug and Ricky went to Marawha School. Unable to contact them, the team decides to head there. In the cafeteria, a cook, Yoshihara, reveals he’s the father of student Nanan Yoshihara, who hasn’t written to him in months, begging them to find her.At the school, Gracia questions Bindi, who shocks her by saying she saw Nanan in the basement, urging Gracia to contact the outside world to resolve the crisis. Confused and alone, Gracia struggles to comprehend the events. That evening, she summons Tahir, giving him weapons for Doug and Ricky, reminding him that, like Ray, he swore to protect the school at all costs and to shoot anything suspicious on sight. Two days later, students prepare for the school festival, unaware of the crisis. Tahir tells Doug and Ricky that he and Ray were war orphans who grew up begging on the streets until Gracia’s father took them to his orphanage. There, they met Gracia, a slightly older girl who worked tirelessly for her father and cared for them, forming a deep familial bond. Tahir explains that Gracia isn’t protecting the school’s honor but the sacred place her father left her, believing she has a pure, childlike heart. Ricky calls her behavior childish, like a spoiled child guarding a toy. Tahir admits Gracia might be happier leaving the school for a simpler life. When Ricky asks about Nanan, mentioning Bindi saw her in the basement, Tahir is stunned, revealing that Nanan Yoshihara died three months ago.During the festival, zombies suddenly attack, exposing the truth to the students. Bindi, wielding her crossbow, fights the zombies and warns her peers to stay back, demanding Gracia reveal the truth. In the auditorium, Gracia, advised by Tahir, accuses Bindi of staging a bioterrorist attack to shift blame. Ricky disapproves, but Doug believes it was necessary to prevent chaos and maintain order. Gracia suspends Bindi, confining her to her quarters for three months. Showing Doug a photo of Nanan, Gracia reveals she and Bindi were as close as sisters, insisting it’s impossible Bindi saw her in the basement since Nanan died because of Gracia. The next day, Gracia leads Doug and Ricky into the dense forest to a bloodstained boulder, where she reveals Nanan died. She explains that Nanan and Bindi resented her, finding life at the school unbearable. Bindi became student representative to change things, but Gracia blocked her. The two girls tried to escape, but Gracia and her men pursued them. During a struggle, Nanan fell and died. Gracia covered it up, admitting she can’t turn back now. Doug urges her to reveal the truth to ease her suffering, but Gracia refuses, saying the school is all she has. Doug encourages her to start anew, together, and when Gracia asks if a second chance is truly possible, he assures her it is if they look to the future.Back at the school, Tahir alerts Doug and Ricky that the hooded woman is on the roof. She reveals herself as Nanan Yoshihara, now a grotesque, tentacled, bipedal creature with a half-deformed face. Nanan attacks the group as a woman in a heavy cloak declares that “Specimen C-16” has activated.
