The Resident Evil: Apocalypse poster design contest was held in 2004 as part of Sony's expansive marketing campaign for Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Inspired by a similar contest for the 2002 film, fans were encouraged to design their own posters for the film.
Contest[]
The contest worked on a two-round system. Applicants submitted their poster designs no later than Wednesday 30 June.[1] Five finalists were picked, and announced by Sienna Guillory on 24 July at the San Diego Comic-Con. Following this, Sony hosted a poll until 2 August, where fans voted for what they felt was the best poster design.[2] The winner received an official printing of their poster, $2,500 and 25 passes to see the film, and all five posters were featured on DVD releases of the film.[1]
