Synopsis[]
After the bomb squad is called to PNC Park, an EOD specialist named Rosado struggled to determine which type of explosive that was hidden in the stadium's storeroom. Elsewhere in Willie Stargell Community Center, Leon and S.W.A.T reinforcements cleared out the remaining hostiles in the area, Leon informs the lieutenant in charged that the bomb has the capability of reanimating dead tissue. SWAT orders the injured people that were exposed to the bombing to be checked into Allegheny General Hospital for potential symptoms of the virus. Back at the stadium, Rosado manages to defuse the bomb 2 minutes before detonation occurs and prevent another outbreak from happening.
Half an hour later, Leon meets Greenwalt in Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Headquarters to discuss of the recent findings found on the culprit's computer by Alec Attico. The computer contains articles and e-mails about the population correction movement in which it is theorised that the world's population was growing too fast for the world's food supply to support the people though the theory is later debunked. Leon brings Greenwalt's attention to the rally that occurred in Frick Park to which Greenwalt realises that they had a rally permit for the population correction movement. Greenwalt adds that officers in the rally were kept an eye on the group though none of their speeches relates to the recent bombings and ends with few protestors arrested for assault charges, Leon theorises that they could be dealing with a radicalised group that specifically targets large social gathering events. After Greenwalt informs Leon that Joseph Pascazzi was one of the arresting officers, Leon heads to the hospital for more information on the rally that Wright had went to.
Elsewhere in Elm Street Park in Enlow, Frank Wright had been taking shelter at a motel and has not been informed of the current events. Riley meets Wright in the park where he tells him that the bomb in PNC Park did not went off and is prevented by bomb squad. Riley confronts Wright about the type of bomb that was used around Pittsburgh in which the pair is left with the false knowledge that those that are near the vicinity of the explosion would be left sick as opposed to reanimated from the dead much to Wright's shock. Riley tells Wright about the next meeting in choosing the next target in the bombing to which Wright is left confused as the three popular bridges that crosses the Allegheny was always the intended target though Riley suggests to let the heat die down before commencing their move. After Riley left, Wright calls Elois Fount and informs her of the newfound knowledge though Elois reassures him and promises to call him again the next morning. In her office, Elois watches news of the bombing before calling her secretary Marisol to connect her with Wilson, the Secretary Of Defense.
In the hospital, Leon visits Pascazzi and inquires him about the population correction movement, Pascazzi informs him that he had arrested a few of them 2 months back before suddenly going into cardiac arrest amidst the conversation. The hospital staff is alerted and tries to resuscitates him but fails as Pascazzi is pronounced dead at 5:07 PM while Leon watched on, grieving and preparing for what he must do next. Suddenly, Pascazzi reanimates.
