Plot
Alice, Chris, Claire, K-mart and the other survivors onboard Arcadia are attacked by Umbrella troops commanded by a brainwashed Jill Valentine. While the survivors are shot at by the soldiers, Alice shoots a chopper, acccidently making crash towards her and knocking her into the water.

Suddenly Alice is next seen waking up in a bed, seemingly another person with a different life. Her husband, Todd, is worried that their daughter's teacher will be angry since Becky hasn't been woken yet. During breakfast, Alice and Todd remind their deaf daughter to speak while she signs. Accidently spilling on Todd's shirt Alice tells him to get another one since she got his dry-cleaning yesterday. However, the moment Todd turns around the corner, a zombie attacks him. He holds it off, telling Alice to take Becky to safety. Both hide in the pantry as more zombies converge on the house. Breaking the ceiling, Alice helps Becky escape into the attic with her. Grabbing a bat, both wait for the noises to die down; the exit the attic, carefuly to avoid making any noise. However, it proves useless as a zombie chases them out of their house. A car pulls up, with what appears to be Rain Ocampo driving it; she offers them a lift, while explaining she doesn't know anything about what's going on. A truck suddenly blocks their way and the car flips over. Thinking Rain is dead, Alice leads Becky into an abandoned house. However, Rain is still alive, she was only knocked out; she waits as the zombies ignore her and rush by. Alice and Becky hide in the closet of a girl's room on the second floor, but a Majini zombie searches it. Telling Becky she loves her and to stay hidden, Alice use herself as bait to lure it away; she pushes it over the rail, impaling it on the broken wood. She turns to see Todd, who has become a Majini zombie; he attacks her.

The normal Alice awakens to find herself stripped and in a sterile room with only one visable window. A light turns on in the window, showing Jill; she asks Alice why she turned against Umbrella. However, Alice asks Jill if she remembers her. In response Jill activates a white noise machine that hurts Alice's ears. This process repeats until Alice is almost broken by it. However, the camers suddenly go off along with the lights. Alice wonder what's happened as a draw opens from the wall; inside is an Umbrella combat unifrom. Alice dresses herself and leaves as a automated voice says system reboot will occur in ten seconds. At the same time, Jill is unconcious, along with her troops; however, she awakens the moment the system reboots the scarab. Jill orders Alice to be captured.

In the hall, Alice runs from a laser grid (deja vu), entering what appears to Tokyo. She sees no-one around, taking a bike chain to break into a police car and take the gun in the glove compartment along with its ammo. Suddenly a computer voice says a simulation will occur; no sooner does it say that, the streets suddenly become full of people. Alice watches as the Patient Zero of the Japan outbreak goes berserk and zombies begin arrving in droves. When the undead notice her, Alice flees through another corridor, only to be followed by the undead. She fights them off, using every bullet she has. Seeing another way approuching, she runs to the end of the hall, where the only exit is. Once inside, she watches as the lights come on and a voice says it's the control room.

Seeing a supply of weapons emerge from the ground, Alice begins arming herself. However, someone points a gun at her. Alice quickly comes face to face with Ada Wong, the top operative of Albert Wesker. Ada explains that neither she or Wesker work for the Umbrella Corperation any more. Wesker appears on screen, confirming this; he explains that Alice is in Umbrella Prime, a testing facility they used to simulate outbreaks of the T-virus and sell it around the world (a bad choice), thus leading to their current situation. He then goes on to explain Jill has been ordered to capture Alice if possible, or terminate her if neccassary. To Alice's shock, she learns that the Red Queen is the one giving the orders; she now controls what remains of the Umbrella Corperation. An extraction team will arrive to take Alice and Ada to him; however, Alice decides to blow the window out inside. Ada tells her not to as they are underwater in Russia.

Director Paul W.S. In the same interview, Anderson stated that if Retribution does well financially, then a sixth film would be developed and it will be the finale of the series. Milla Jovovich revealed that she is planning to star in a sixth and final installment of the franchise which will close out the series' storyline. Her husband, Anderson, pitched her the idea while vacationing following wrapping the fifth film and that the series would most likely continue past a sixth film, just not with her as the star. A sixth film was confirmed by Sony distribution's head Rory Bruer. In an interview with Forbes, producer Samuel Hadida stated that a sixth and seventh installment are planned and a reboot of the series is possible.
