The demo has no time limit and can be replayed as many times as the player wishes, with an additional, extreme difficulty exclusive to the demo called Mad Chainsaw mode, which is triggered at random after the player presses the new game prompt in the main menu.[1]

Plot[]
The demo begins with Leon Scott Kennedy recounting his years and his only day in the force as a rookie cop during Raccoon City Destruction Incident, stating that the cop in him died that day, and expresses deep regret over the enormous causalities in the aftermath of the sterilization by US Government and blaming Umbrella and its BOWs. Afterwards, Leon is forced into the role as a Government agent and undergoes training in the top secret government program, going through the grueling training and participating in punishing missions and gaining proficiency in the weapon handling and close quarters combat, training under Major Jack Krauser.
In 2004, Leon is sent to Valdelobos, a remote, mountainous village located in Spain. After the US Secret Service intercepts reliable intel that Ashley Graham, code named Baby Eagle, the abducted daughter of the current President Graham, which suggested that the First Daughter was last sighted in the region. Leon, along other two local cops from Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, arrives at the remote destination. The duo policemen went deeper into the village to gather information, only to not return after a continuous amount of time. Sometime afterwards, Leon grows weary and goes after to check on them. He arrives at the Hunter's Lodge, belonging to a bearded Spanish resident, who acts in strange behavior such as mumbling to himself. Leon asks the man, in Spanish, if he had seen the missing officers but no answers are given. Looking around the room, he notices the bloody badge of officer Mario Fernandez Castaño and is suddenly attacked by the seemingly crazed man, though he manages to dodge and inadvertently break his neck. Hearing officer Castaño scream, Leon follows the sound down the basement where he discovers the officer's corpse as well as the radio emitting requests for help from the other, before the signal breaks up. In the basement, Leon hears a sudden crack coming from the upstairs and sees the villager, who approaches him despite the broken neck, with tentacles now sprouting from his wounds, but manages to kill the man.
Leon makes his way back to the main part of the lodge, where he sees a congregation of other men. Leon hides in another room where he discovers evidence of that Ashley is being held in Lago, the lake part of Valdelobos. Leon informs his agency's support operative Ingrid Hunnigan of his discovery. Having found a lead, Leon escapes the pursuers by jumping out of the window and proceeds further into to the village square, where he witnesses the execution by ritualistic burning a pyre of the remaining police officer by the villagers. He soon finds himself being quickly surrounded by the villagers of the Valdelobos, including a crazed man who wears a sack as a mask and wielding a chainsaw. Leon hides in a house nearby, which is quickly broken into by the villagers and the chainsaw-wielding maniac, but manages to buy himself enough time until the church's bell rings, rendering the villagers docile and dropping down their weapons before retreating back to the Church. Leon stands outside, puzzled by the villagers' actions and left confused over what had just occurred.
Gameplay[]
The demo has two sections being the Hunter's Lodge and Village Square. There are two difficulties, Standard mode and the Mad Chainsaw mode, which can be played at random, after a pop-up prompt, whilst the player presses the New Game in the main menu, after completing the demo for the first time. In the Mad Chainsaw mode, the amount of Los Ganados is doubled, they are much more aggressive and Leon takes more damage. The Chainsaw Man has a different model, with his upper clothes being whiter, the sack covering his face being paler and black marks painted on it, and his chainsaw's blade appears to be glowing.
