Resident Evil Outbreak, known in Japan as Biohazard Outbreak (バイオハザード アウトブレイク,Baiohazādo Autobureiku?) is a survival horror video game developed by the former CAPCOM Production Studio 1.[2]
As usual with the series up to that point, the game had a single player mode but instead of playing it "alone" you would actually have 2 AI-controlled characters by your side.[3]
Online[]
Outbreak was the first Resident Evil to feature an online multiplayer mode, using Playstation 2's online functionally, it was capable of running matches with up to four players. Unfortunately the game lost all online play capabilities for the USA servers in 2007. The Japan servers stayed up but finally went down in July 2011. However fans were able to bring back the online mode in 2013.[4]
"Virus Gauge," which limits the amount of time players may spend on a scenario. The virus gauge rises at different rates for different characters, and increases rapidly if the character is attacked or crawling on the ground.
