The Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta is a public beta of Resident Evil: Resistance. It was first announced on March 16, 2020,[2] and was playable between March 27 - April 3. However, the application itself released and could be downloaded on March 18 / 19 on the two consoles (depending on the user's timezone).
Due to a technical issue, the PS4 and Steam versions of the beta could not be played on the date it was set, with the Xbox One version working normally.[3] The two versions instead became playable on March 30 / 31,[4] with the Steam version working a few hours before the PS4 version.

The open beta was similar to the closed beta, players could not use the four new characters introduced after the closed beta ended, even though two of them are featured in the game's icon on the playable platforms. These were: Becca Woolett, Martin Sandwich, Alex Wesker, Oswell E. Spencer.
Outside of the game, Capcom again made a web manual which is slightly different than the web manual for the closed beta: Resident Evil RESISTANCE OPEN BETA Official Web Manual.

Glitches[]
- During the Survivor tutorial, the Bio Core may not spawn at the end. Players must leave the match, as the tutorial does not end when the timer ends.
- In the first area, one of the key items may not spawn. Players must either leave the match or wait for the timer to end, there was no way to force it to spawn.
