Riot Gun is a weapon in Resident Evil 4. This weapon can be purchased from the Merchant for 28,000 ₧
Gameplay[]
Ostensibly the strongest shotgun the player can get in the game; both from function perspective and its availability perspective.
While the riotgun has slightly lower firepower than the starting shotgun fully upgraded, it's far narrower spread, higher capacity, faster fire rate, faster reload speed, and relatively early availability (ergo how early its exclusive upgrade becomes available) makes it overall an upgrade in any aspect to the W-870 while outperforming other shotguns through function alone.
Its focused spread allows for far safer engagement as well as allowing maximum dps (pellet concentration), often bisecting ganados in the process, staggering and damaging stronger enemies like Dr. Salvador or the Bella sisters and Brutes; granting substantial breathing room in the process, all the while being a more than viable means of engaging bosses that would otherwise be a death sentence in close range such as Ramon Salazar.
This high concentration in damage also allows for far better ammo economy in general given how scarce ammunitions can be that aren't handgun ammo.
All this however is offset by it being the 2nd most expensive shotgun to completely upgrade, having the players' upgrade ventures in other weapons stymied.
The Riot Gun is one of the starting weapon of Leon in The Mercenaries mode.
