The Prison cemetery
Rockfort Prison is an illegal Umbrella administered prison camp on the privately owned Rockfort Island. It is administered along with the rest of the island by Alfred Ashford.
The prison camp is heavily damaged following the attack on the island, and sections are unaccessible by the time of Claire's escape. Despite this, the prison was seen to contain dormitories for the prisoners, a small cemetery, a medical wing and crematorium with hidden torture chambers located beneath, and an administrative office. Access is via a bridge that leads to the Training Facility and Palace.
Prisoners include industrial saboteurs and traitors to Umbrella, as well as their families.
Claire Redfield is held after her unsuccessful raid on Umbrella's Paris office, while Steve Burnside is held alongside his father who attempted to sell on Umbrella research. Another prisoner, Robert Dorson, was Alfred Ashford's private attendant, until Alfred grew displeased with him and he was interred in the prison. Dorson was later tortured to death by the prison's insane medical officer.
Prisoners are held indefinitely and it is implied are either used in experiments, or exercises by the special forces trainees at the Training Facility.
The prison is presumably abandoned after the island's self destruct sequence is activated, as no further mention of it is made in Umbrella documents.
