"Echo Six are in constant communication with command, closing in on Umbrella's facility. The team is cautious as no one is sure of what the team may find."
— Official description

Root of all Evil (悪の源 aku no minamoto?) is a DLC mission in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for the Echo Six campaign.

Plot

The team go through the underground and find themselves in a dark corridor. Hearing strange sounds coming from the dark, they soon realise the ceiling is crawling with NE-B Parasites. A pack of Parasite Zombies enter the fight soon after. Finding the Umbrella logo on a door, they enter to find the reception desk for the B.O.W. Programming Lab. After this the team goes into a decontamination chamber. Command gives orders to search for the control room. The team eventually find their way into the room. A holographic display and pre-recorded message explains Umbrella's goal of using the G-Virus to further humankind by way of its evolutionary potential. They deduce from the message that the Umbrella-manufactured t-Virus is the cause of the outbreak and that the G-Virus could make the situation worse and warn Command. They are given orders to collect a sample of the G-Virus for further study.

As they explore the lab further, the team are confronted by a USS team and automated turrets, part of Umbrella's attempt to regain control of the lab. Disabling the turrets, they move on. Entering a new chamber, the team find an unconscious T-103 Tyrant being programmed. The data on terminals against it indicates it is being programmed to hunt down Sherry Birkin in order to obtain the G-Virus. Command instructs Echo Six to recover the girl as their sample, and to destroy the facility. Destroying the terminals to prevent the Tyrant's programming complete, the creature awakens anyway and attacks the team. They race to a control room and activate the self-destruct system, causing numerous fires and explosions. In the process, a number of Elite Hunters escape containment and temporarily prevent their escape. They soon deal with them and go up the elevator to the surface. Back underground, the Tyrant is set upon by Nemesis parasites an becomes the Parasite Super Tyrant.

The name of the mission seems to be an allusion to the bible, new testament, 1:Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
