Rosa was of Mexican descent, but after the death of her father, she was raised on the Hopi reservation with her mother.

Rosa's mother went to a Raccoon City diner and was killed by a zombie. With a hatred for Umbrella and its creations, she joined Charlie team, serving as a tracker. Falcon had lots of respect for her abilities, calling her "part Mexican, part Hopi Indian, and all bloodhound."
