Ryan was one of the Tricell employees who worked in their Uroboros research facility in Africa, underneath the former Umbrella Corporation's facility.[1] He and the rest of the research staff were tricked by Tricell and Albert Wesker into thinking that they had been given an early vacation period in celebration of their work; instead, they were rounded up and killed to prevent security-leaks regarding the Uroboros virus.[2]
