(Capcom's primary storyline)
The Samcă (plural: "Samce") is a type of human mutant that arose in a mountainous region of Eastern Europe.[1] It is a Mold-infected victim of serial killer Alcina Dimitrescu who was restored to life while suffering mental degradation and physical mutation into a feral, bat-like creature. It is named after a folkloric monster said to afflict pregnant women and young children with disease.
Biology[]
The exact relationship between Samce and Moroaice is uncertain, but the former appears to be a further mutation of the latter, given their similar appearances and traits. While often obscured by the hood of its ragged garment, the face of a Samcă is greatly deformed, resulting in poor if any sight. Its tongue has grown into a long, pointed appendage used for drinking blood, similar to the proboscis of a mosquito.
The most radical mutation experienced by a Samcă can be seen in the arms, which have mutated into large, bat-like wings. The last three fingers on each hand have been grotesquely elongated, and the arms themselves are bent upward and are stuck at a 90-degree angle at the elbow. Fleshy membranes spread between the fingers and connect what was once the pinkie finger to the Samcă's lower back.
Gameplay[]
Samce first appear on the rooftop of Castle Dimitrescu, only attacking the player when they get too close to certain points. Several will perch themselves on various ledges of the castle; similar to a Lycan, this allows them to ambush inattentive prey. However, this makes them easy to pick off with a long-range weapon before they become a threat - conveniently, the F2 Rifle is available shortly before the player emerges on the rooftop.
If provoked, Samce will fly up to the player to engage in melee, allowing for pistols or shotguns to be used at medium and short range respectively. They are weaker than the Moroaice, but they can still do a good amount of damage if allowed to attack and can occasionally dodge attacks by quickly darting to the side.
Aside from the castle rooftop, Samce make a few more appearances later in the game. A few will be lurking in the fields if the player visits Luiza's house prior to getting the third flask, and others can spawn when fighting the Uriaș Drac in the Old Mill. They're particularly dangerous in the latter instance, where they can distract the player from Uriaș Drac or vice-versa; however, they won't show up if the giant is killed quickly.
Aside from the usual loot items, a slain Samcă has a chance to drop a Crystal Wing. Be careful killing them on the rooftop of Castle Dimitrescu, as the loot may be lost or inaccessible if they fall in the wrong place.
