Sentinel Nine is a weapon type that is exclusive to Resident Evil 4 Deluxe Edition (formerly) and Gold Edition (currently).
Location[]
The Sentinel Nine is exclusive to the Deluxe Edition (formerly) and Gold Edition (currently) upgrade and therefore unobtainable without this upgrade. Once obtained, the weapon (along with other deluxe edition (formerly) and gold edition (currently) bonuses) can be found at any typewriter in storage and is available from the beginning of the game.
Gameplay[]
In game, the Sentinel Nine acts similarly to the SG-09 R in terms of stats boasting a slightly non-upgraded higher firepower, fire rate and ammunition capacity, the same precision rating, a slightly slower reload speed and the same size in the Attaché case (3x2 tiles).
The differences between the two don't begin to show until both are at max rank, wherein the Sentinel Nine has a slight disadvantage in regards to firepower, a much larger magazine capacity, greater rate of fire, a slightly slower reload speed and the same exclusive perk offering a 5x increase to crit chance.
The stat similarities between the Sentinel Nine and the SG-09 R mean that early on the Sentinel Nine is a viable alternative to the SG-09 R for players that would benefit from the increased ammunition capacity.
At Max rank the Sentinel Nine beats the SG-09 R in every regard other than firepower and reload speed. However, the much larger magazine capacity, fire rate, same precision (via laser sight) and exclusive upgrade allows players to take more frequent uninterrupted potshots. It's minimal damage difference to the SG-09R almost always leads to the same number of shots to kill any standard enemy discounting critical shots and handgun ammo is extremely common that it is a non-issue in moderation (unlike Matilda's case).
