Sherry Birkin was the daughter of Umbrella Corporation scientists William and Annette who lived in Raccoon City.
Biography[]
In September 1998, Sherry was caught up in the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident. She was being put to bed by her mother, Annette, when her father, William, received a phone call and rushed her out of bed.
The two accompanied William down to his laboratory, where he attempted to secure the his life's work: the G-Virus. Annette tried to comfort Sherry, who was confused and terrified by both the situation and the animated zombie that Birkin had been experimenting on. Albert Wesker, a rogue member of the RPD's S.T.A.R.S. unit, eventually found the Birkins, resulting in William and Annette both being shot and killed. After hiding from the attacker, Sherry is suddenly rescued by Wesker's former teammates, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, who shot and seemingly killed him. However, before they could escape, Birkin ended up injecting himself with his own creation, being reanimated and mutating into a monster.
As Chris stayed behind to face the mutated Birkin, Jill brought Sherry with her to find some kind of way out of Raccoon City. Eventually, they discovered a nearby train and Sherry, Jill, Chris, Chris' sister, Claire Redfield, and rookie cop, Leon S. Kennedy, board it together. However, they were then attacked by a further unrecognizable malformation of Birkin. Leon managed to destroy his mutated form and Sherry, along with the other survivors, emerged from the tunnel after the city is obliterated.[1]
