The Shotgun is a pump-action weapon that appears in Resident Evil 2, being based on a Remington M870. It is called the Remington M1100 P in-game. With a capacity of 5 shells, the shotgun is useful for close quarters, either killing zombies outright or splitting them in half. It can also eliminate tough enemies like the lickers in a few shots.
This weapon can be found in three locations:
- In Leon A scenario the gunshop owner Robert Kendo drops his shotgun after getting devoured by zombies. A second shotgun is inside the cabinet of the S.T.A.R.S. room.
- In Leon B scenario the shotgun can be found in Main Hall of the R.P.D. police station.
Later in the game, the Shotgun is modified with the Shotgun Parts to become a replica of the Remington M1100 (which is not actually possible in real-life). It is called the Custom Shotgun.
