The '''Shotgun E''' is a weapon that appears exclusively as usable in ''[[Resident Evil Outbreak File 2|Resident Evil Outbreak File #2]] ''and appears in cinematic cutscenes in other ''Resident Evil'' titles. It is a Remington Model 870 shotgun, considered a well-rounded, inexpensive, dependable shotgun utilized widely by all facets of society for sporting, hunting, self defense, law enforcement and military purposes since its inception in the 1950s. It features a seven-round, 12-gauge shot capacity.

The Shotgun E offers a weaker firepower and a slower reload than the Shotgun, but firepower remains consistent at longer ranges, whereas the Shotgun's ranged damage diminshes.
