The "Sickly Mom" (d. 1 October 1998) was a civilian caught up in the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident, she was the mother of the "Sickly Boy".[1]
Biography[]
A resident of Raccoon City, Sickly Mom lived with her son in the older part of town around the old water tower, and were neighbours of police officer Chris Redfield. In the late 1990s, the city's economy collapsed when its main employer, Umbrella Corporation, moved to Tall Oaks. Unable to sell up, she stayed behind with her son as the population drastically reduced.[1]
In early September 1998, Sicky Mom and her son were infected with T-virus, an engineered virus used in Umbrella's research and which had contaminated the city's drinking water. Over the next several weeks they began to physically deteriorate as they developed symptoms of Cannibal Disease such as hair loss, haemolacria, delirium and violent mood swings.[1]
On the night of 30 September, Umbrella formally alerted the city to a danger and instructed the residents to remain in doors. Sickly Mom may have threatened her son in an outburst at this time, as he was seen to have left the house. In a daze, she wandered through the rain and wrote "itchy, tasty" on the back door of the Redfield house in her own blood. Initially, Sickly Mom walked away when confronted by the occupant, Claire, but became aggressive once more and broke in to attack her before scratching her own face in frustration.[1]
Following this, she walked out towards the Raccoon Police Station where she tried to gain entry while deteriorating further. Sicky Mom was ultimately killed alongside her son when Raccoon City was destroyed on the morning of 1 October.[1]
