Dr. Simon Barr was an Umbrella Corporation employee and one of the world's foremost experts in the design of Artificial Intelligence.

Background

For a time, Barr worked as a teacher to pass along his skills, but vowed that none of his students could possibly get a higher grade than a "B." However, one student, a young Lisa Addison, worked herself to the brink of a breakdown to prove him wrong, and even though he told her that the only thing she would ever be was a corporate drone who was better than most, he was forced to give her an "A."

Some time later, he was hired by the Umbrella Corporation to build AIs for their facilities, and he was intimately involved in the creation of the Red and White Queens. As a designer, he had a reputation of giving his creations bratty personalities, to the displeasure of both Addison and Sam Isaacs. Three and a half years into the global T-virus pandemic, he was killed.[1]
