South Raccoon Street was one of Raccoon City's major streets and was situated in a commercial area. Directly beneath the street was South Raccoon Street Station, part of the Kite Bros. Railway.
During the Raccoon City Destruction Incident the street was in chaos with crashed, burning vehicles, with a large population of Zombies who roamed the street searching victims. A group of refugees from J's Bar travelled down this street early in the outbreak in search of shelter.
