Square Enix is a Japanese video game and publishing company, who are better known for their RPG video game series. They are the conglomeration of developer company Squaresoft, and the publisher company Enix, as the result of a joint merger in 2001. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts are some of well known their trademark series; collaborative efforts with Capcom include Breath of Fire and crossover events in Monster Hunter. A subsection of the company, called "Play Arts Kai", is notable for making action figures, from company centered series including Final Fantasy, to joint projects on outside series and properties from DC Comics, Eidos Interactive, and Metal Gear Solid, and are publishers in manga and the guide compilations known as Ultimania.
