An Umbrella researcher, Steve was part of the Arklay Research Facility research team. He won a Poker game on May the 9th, prompting "The Keeper" to think he cheated.[1] Like the rest of the Facility's staff, Steve was infected with the escaped tyrant virus and either succumbed and became a Zombie, or was killed by a co-worker or another t-virus creation.
